Empowered Musician Program Co-founder, Flutist, Founder VERITÀ Baroque Ensemble, Educator

Siberian-born flutist Taya König-Tarasevich enjoys a distinguished international career as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer on historical flutes. A proud alumna of The Juilliard School, she serves as the co-founder and artistic director of VERITÀ BAROQUE, an ensemble dedicated to reimagining Baroque chamber music for the 21st century through immersive soundscapes and 360-degree video.

Taya has performed globally under the baton of renowned conductors such as Masaaki Suzuki, Teodor Currentzis, and Richard Egarr, with appearances at prestigious venues including Lincoln Center and the Salzburg Festival. She has also been involved in outreach efforts in Nairobi, Kenya, contributing to educational initiatives that aim to make music education more accessible

Fluent in English, German, Italian, and Russian, Taya is currently on the faculty at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she imparts her knowledge and passion for historical performance to students.
